🔗 Giới từ đi kèm động từ, tính từ, danh từ (Dependent Prepositions) · B2

Nhiều động từ, tính từ và danh từ luôn đi với một giới từ cố định (contribute to, responsible for, impact on). Giới từ này thường khác tiếng Việt nên cần học theo cụm.

Công thức

Động từ + giới từ	S + contribute + to + N / V-ing Cars contribute to air pollution.
Tính từ + giới từ	S + be + responsible + for + N / V-ing Parents are responsible for teaching basic manners.
Danh từ + giới từ	a / the + impact + on + N Social media has a huge impact on teenagers.
Giới từ + động từ	… to / for / of + V-ing Many people object to paying higher taxes.

Cách dùng

Poor diet can lead to serious health problems. – Chế độ ăn kém có thể dẫn đến các vấn đề sức khỏe nghiêm trọng.
Tác động
Tourism has a positive effect on local employment. – Du lịch có tác động tích cực đến việc làm ở địa phương.
Trách nhiệm
Who should be responsible for protecting endangered species? – Ai nên chịu trách nhiệm bảo vệ các loài có nguy cơ tuyệt chủng?
Thay đổi số liệu (Task 1): increase in / increase of
There was an increase in sales, an increase of 15%. – Doanh số tăng, một mức tăng 15%. (in + thứ tăng, of + con số)
Giới từ + V-ing (to ở đây là giới từ)
Students need time to adapt to living independently. – Sinh viên cần thời gian để thích nghi với cuộc sống tự lập.

💡 Nếu “to” là giới từ (look forward to, object to, adapt to, be used to, contribute to, key to) thì động từ theo sau phải ở dạng V-ing: contribute to reducing emissions.

discuss là ngoại động từ, không cần about (dù tiếng Việt nói “thảo luận về”).

❌ ~~Young people are more interested about technology.~~
✅ Young people are more interested in technology.
interested đi với in.

Ứng dụng trong IELTS

Sai giới từ là lỗi nhỏ nhưng lặp nhiều lần sẽ kéo điểm Grammatical Accuracy và Lexical Resource. Học collocation theo cụm: “have a significant impact on”, “play a key role in”, “pose a threat to”.
