Cách dùng
- Farther / further: cả hai chỉ khoảng cách; chỉ further mang nghĩa "thêm, hơn nữa"

My elder sister is three years older than me. – Chị gái tôi lớn hơn tôi ba tuổi. - Less + N không đếm được; fewer + N đếm được số nhiều
People today spend less time reading books. – Ngày nay mọi người dành ít thời gian đọc sách hơn. - The same (+ N) as; similar to; different from
My answer was the same as yours. – Câu trả lời của tôi giống của bạn. - So sánh nhất + ever (từng) / in + nơi chốn / of + nhóm
It was the most exciting match I have ever watched. – Đó là trận đấu hấp dẫn nhất tôi từng xem. - Số lần + so sánh hơn + than (Task 1)
Coffee consumption in 2022 was three times higher than in 2000. – Lượng cà phê tiêu thụ năm 2022 cao gấp ba lần năm 2000.

Lỗi hay gặp
❌ The figure for 2020 was very higher than in 2010.
✅ The figure for 2020 was much higher than in 2010.
Nhấn mạnh so sánh hơn dùng much / far / considerably, không dùng very.
❌ More you read, more you know.
✅ The more you read, the more you know.
Cấu trúc càng…càng cần the ở cả hai vế.
❌ His answer was the same like mine.
✅ His answer was the same as mine.
The same đi với as, không đi với like.
❌ Sales were twice higher as in the previous year.
✅ Sales were twice as high as in the previous year.
Gấp nhiều lần: twice + as + tính từ nguyên mẫu + as.
Ứng dụng trong IELTS
Task 1 cần so sánh liên tục: dùng trạng từ mức độ (slightly, considerably, by far), cấu trúc gấp nhiều lần và thứ hạng (the second largest) để tránh lặp "higher than".
