Công thức

Thời gian	S + V + in / on / at + mốc thời gian The exam starts at 9 a.m. on Saturday.
Khoảng thời gian (Task 1)	S + V + from … to / between … and + năm Sales rose between 2005 and 2015.
Giới từ đi kèm	Adj / V / N + giới từ cố định + N / V-ing Parents are responsible for teaching good manners.

Cách dùng

Mô tả mức thay đổi bằng by và mức cuối bằng to
Prices rose by 10% to $50. – Giá tăng thêm 10% lên mức 50 đô la.
Mức đạt được: at + số liệu
The rate peaked at 80% in 2010. – Tỉ lệ đạt đỉnh ở mức 80% vào năm 2010.
Tính từ + giới từ
Many students are interested in studying abroad. – Nhiều sinh viên quan tâm đến việc du học.
Động từ + giới từ
Success depends on hard work rather than luck. – Thành công phụ thuộc vào sự chăm chỉ hơn là may mắn.
Danh từ + giới từ
There has been an increase in demand for housing. – Nhu cầu về nhà ở đã tăng lên.

Adj + for	responsible for, famous for, suitable for
Adj + of	aware of, capable of, afraid of, proud of

V + on	depend on, rely on, focus on, spend money on
V + from	benefit from, suffer from, prevent sb from
N + in / of / to / on	a rise in, a cause of, a solution to, an impact on

💡 Học giới từ theo cả cụm, đừng học riêng lẻ. Sau giới từ, động từ luôn ở dạng V-ing: interested in learning, capable of solving.

💡 Không dùng giới từ trước next/last/this/every: next week, last year, every Sunday.

Lỗi hay gặp

❌ ~~Children can benefit a lot by playing sports.~~
✅ Children can benefit a lot from playing sports.
“benefit” đi với from.

❌ ~~This trend has a big influence to young people.~~
✅ This trend has a big influence on young people.
influence/impact/effect + on.

❌ ~~We discussed about the problem in class.~~
✅ We discussed the problem in class.
“discuss” là ngoại động từ, không cần about (giống emphasise, mention).

Ứng dụng trong IELTS

Task 1: phân biệt rõ “rose by 5%” (tăng thêm 5 điểm) và “rose to 5%” (tăng lên mức 5%). Một giới từ sai có thể làm sai lệch toàn bộ số liệu.
