Mục đích thư I am writing in response to your article about the proposed closure of Westbridge Library, which I strongly oppose.

Ý 1 The library is far more than a place to borrow books. It offers free internet access, homework clubs for children and reading groups for elderly residents. For many people, it is the only welcoming public space in the town.

Ý 2 If the library closed, the most vulnerable members of the community would suffer the most. Families who cannot afford computers would lose access to online services, and older people living alone would lose an important chance to meet others. Moreover, students would have nowhere quiet to study.

Ý 3 Instead of closing it, the council could reduce opening hours on quieter days or rent out the meeting room to local businesses. Volunteers could also help with simple tasks, which would cut staffing costs.
