Mở bài Rising rates of anxiety and depression among teenagers have led to a debate about who should be responsible for young people's mental health. While some argue that it deserves a dedicated place in the timetable, others believe it should be left to families and doctors. In my view, schools should teach it, but in close cooperation with parents and professionals.
Thân bài 1 Câu chủ đề Those who oppose a separate subject have a valid point. Giải thích Mental health is a deeply personal matter, and parents usually understand their own child's character and difficulties far better than a teacher responsible for thirty pupils. Furthermore, serious conditions require trained psychologists rather than classroom lessons, and poorly designed courses might even trivialise genuine suffering.
Thân bài 2 Câu chủ đề On the other hand, a school subject can reach every child, including those whose families are unable or unwilling to talk about emotions. Giải thích Regular lessons can teach pupils to recognise the warning signs of stress, cope with setbacks and ask for help without feeling ashamed. Ví dụ For example, schools in Australia that introduced such programmes have reported fewer cases of bullying and a greater willingness to seek support. Such lessons also give pupils a shared vocabulary for discussing feelings with friends and teachers.
Quan điểm Câu chủ đề I believe the two approaches are complementary rather than competing. Schools are best placed to provide basic knowledge and early detection, whereas families offer daily emotional support and professionals treat more serious problems. A dedicated subject would also help to break the stigma that still surrounds mental illness in many communities.
Kết bài In conclusion, although families and health experts play an indispensable role, mental health should be taught as a separate subject, provided that teachers are properly trained and work hand in hand with parents and specialists.
